Turn Your Vision Board into a Vision Book!

Vision boards are great, but they are static, stuck on a wall, often overlooked.  My vision boards evolved into a VISION BOOK. It goes where I go, reminding me why I do what I do everyday, what’s important, and my goals and visions for the beautiful blessings to come.

Grab some friends, get the kids involved, let your creativity flow, have some fun!  Sophia had a blast cutting out photos, inspiring words and creating her own Vision Book!

I’m a huge fan of personal development and constantly learning, growing and challenging myself.  I’m part of an online book club, and I’m so thankful to have been introduced to this book, ‘A Happy Pocket Full of Money.’  It has further opened my eyes, shifted my outlook and has helped me discover who I am and what I want.  It’s the kind of book where I read it through once, and am now going back through it to dig deeper.  The concept of a Vision Book/Vision Journal comes from Chapter 6.  It speaks to many ideas, including the power of setting goals, having clear visions, writing down your inspirations and reasons, and keeping track of them in a journal.

Materials Needed:

Journal, magazines, photos, glue stick, scissors, colorful markers, anything else that inspires you.

I bought this Strathmore 5.5in x 8.5in (40 page) art journal with heavy sheets at Michaels, but I’m sure you can find it online, or any journal will do!

There is no correct way to do this.  Use your creativity, be honest about what’s important to you, think of big goals and small goals, and create a Vision Book for yourself to help you get there!

Steps to creating a Vision Book:
Adapted from ‘A Happy Pocket Full of Money:’

1️⃣List what you would like to have, do and to be between now and the next 30 years. 100+ things on the list.
2️⃣For each goal, write the reason. Reasons empower your goal and make it stronger to imagine, visualize and attain.
3️⃣Start a goals and visualization journal. Place pictures of what you wish to have. Refer to it twice a day.
4️⃣Everyday, read your list and look at your pictures. Spend 20 minutes a day imagining and animating your goals. Meditate on it.
5️⃣Act deliberately with your awareness. Act in the now.
6️⃣Do everything with gratitude. Think, speak, and act with gratitude, knowing you are guaranteed success. Being genuinely grateful and excited about the fact that you already have your goals realized, for they are law.
7️⃣Enjoy experiencing your goals when they manifest into reality.

Here’s a sneak peek into my Vision Book….

Please don’t judge, it’s still a work in progress.  These are things that inspire me, are part of my daily life and goals and visions for my future.  These are just a few of my Vision Book pages…
